| 1. | Remove the VTEC solenoid valve. |
| 2. | Remove the cover and exhaust manifold bracket, then remove the exhaust manifold. GASKETReplace.GASKET Replace.10 x 1.25 mm 44 N·m (4.5 kgf·m, 33 lbf·ft) Replace.8 x 1.25 mm 22 N·m (2.2 kgf·m,16 lbf·ft)HEAT SHIELD (K20A6 engine)EXHAUST MANIFOLD BRACKET (K24A3 engine)10 x 1.25 mm 44 N·m (4.5 kgf·m, 33 lbf·ft)8 x 1.25 mm 22 N·m (2.2 kgf·m, 16 lbf·ft) Replace. Tighten the bolts in steps, alternating side-to-sideSELF-LOCKING NUT 10 x 1.25 mm 44 N·m (4.5 kgf·m, 33 lbf·ft) Replace.EXHAUST MANIFOLDCOVER8 x 1.25 mm 22 N·m (2.2 kgf·m, 16 lbf·ft)EXHAUST MANIFOLD BRACKET (K20A6 engine) |
| 3. | Install the exhaust manifold and tighten the bolts/nuts in a crisscross pattern in two or three steps, beginning with the inner nut. |
| 4. | Install the other parts in the reverse order of removal. |
