DTC Troubleshooting: P0223 (7)
| DTC P0223: | TP Sensor B Circuit High Voltage |
| 1. | Turn the ignition switch ON (II). |
| 2. | Check for Temporary DTCs or DTCs in the DTCs MENU with the Honda PGM Tester or the HDS. Are DTC P0123 and P0223 simultaneously indicated? YES - Go to 11. NO - Go to 3. |
| 3. | Do the DTC CLEAR in the CLEAR MENU with the Honda PGM Tester or the HDS. |
| 4. | Check the TP SENSOR-B in the DATA LIST with the Honda PGM Tester or the HDS. Is there about 80° (REL), 100 % (REL) or 4.8 V? YES - Go to 5. NO - Intermittent failure, system is OK at this time. |
| 5. | Measure voltage between throttle body 6P connector terminal No. 3 and body ground. THROTTLE BODY 6P CONNECTORWire side of female terminalsTPS B (RED/BLU)Is there about 5 V? YES - Go to 16. NO - Go to 6. |
| 6. | Turn the ignition switch OFF. |
| 7. | Disconnect the throttle actuator control module 16P connector. |
| 8. | Disconnect the throttle body 6P connector. |
| 9. | Connect the throttle body 6P connector terminal No. 3 to body ground with a jumper wire. THROTTLE BODY 6P CONNECTORWire side of female terminalsTPS B (RED/BLK)JUMPER WIRE |
| 10. | Check for continuity between throttle actuator control module 16P connector terminal No. 12 and body ground. THROTTLE ACTUATOR CONTROL MODULE 16PCONNECTORWire side of female terminalsTPS B (RED/BLU) Is there continuity? YES - Substitute a known-good throttle actuator control module, then go to 18. and recheck. If DTC P0223 is not indicated, replace the original throttle actuator control module, then go to 18. If DTC P0223 is indicated, then go to 16. NO - Repair open in the wire between the throttle body and the throttle actuator control module (TPS B line), then go to 18. |
| 11. | Turn the ignition switch OFF. |
| 12. | Disconnect the throttle body 6P connector. |
| 13. | Disconnect the throttle actuator control module 16P connector. |
| 14. | Connect the throttle body 6P connector terminal No. 4 to body ground with a jumper wire. THROTTLE BODY 6P CONNECTORWire side of female terminalsSG (GRN)JUMPER WIRE |
| 15. | Check for continuity between throttle actuator control module 16P connector terminal No. 9 and body ground. THROTTLE ACTUATOR CONTROL MODULE 16PCONNECTORWire side of female terminalsSG (GRN/WHT) Is there continuity? YES - Substitute a known-good throttle actuator control module, then go to 18. and recheck. If DTC P0223 is not indicated, replace the original throttle actuator control module, then go to 18. If DTC P0223 is indicated, then go to 16. NO - Repair open in the wire between the throttle body and the throttle actuator control module (SG line), then go to 18. |
| 16. | Turn the ignition switch OFF. |
| 17. | Replace the throttle body. |
| 18. | Turn the ignition switch ON (II). |
| 19. | Do the ECM/PCM RESET in the CLEAR MENU with the Honda PGM Tester or the HDS. |
| 20. | Do the ECM/PCM idle learn procedure. |
| 21. | Check for Temporary DTCs or DTCs in the DTCs MENU with the Honda PGM Tester or the HDS. Are any Temporary DTCs or DTCs indicated? YES - If DTC P0223 is indicated, check for poor connections or loose terminals at the throttle body and the throttle actuator control module, then go to 1. If any other Temporary DTCs or DTCs are indicated, go to the indicated DTC troubleshooting. NO - Troubleshooting is complete.n |
