DTC Troubleshooting: B1382
| DTC B1382: | Full Latch Switch Signal Error |
| 1. | Clear the DTCs by selecting the DTCs MENU (DTCs) from the Honda PGM Tester or the HDS. |
| 2. | Open the tailgate fully with the tailgate outer handle, then close it fully with manual operation after 1 second or more. |
| 3. | Check the DTCs by selecting the DTCs MENU (DTCs) from the Honda PGM Tester or the HDS. Is DTC B1382 indicated? YES - Go to 4. NO - Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.n |
| 4. | Open the tailgate fully with the tailgate outer handle. |
| 5. | Cycle the ignition switch to OFF, and by using the screwdriver, close the latch in the tailgate. |
| 6. | Disconnect the 12P connector from the tailgate closer unit. |
| 7. | Check for continuity between the No. 7 and No. 9 terminals of the tailgate closer unit 12P connector. Wire side of female terminalsBLU/BLKBLKTAILGATE CLOSER UNIT 12P CONNECTORIs there continuity? YES - Faulty full latch switch; replace the tailgate closer unit.n NO - Go to 8. |
| 8. | Reconnect the 12P connector to the tailgate closer unit. |
| 9. | Disconnect connector A (26P) from the power tailgate control unit. |
| 10. | Check for continuity between the No. 18 terminal of power tailgater control unit connector A (26P) and body ground. POWER TAILGATE CONTROLUNIT CONNECTOR A (26P)Wire side of female terminalsBLU/BLK Is there continuity? YES - Go to 15. NO - Go to 11. |
| 11. | Rotate the emergency lever inside of the tailgate, release from the full latch position. |
| 12. | Check for continuity between the No. 18 and No. 14 terminals of power tailgate control unit connector A (26P). POWER TAILGATE CONTROLUNIT CONNECTOR A (26P)Wire side of female terminalsBLU/BLKBLK Is there continuity? YES - Faulty power tailgate control unit; replace it.n NO - Go to 13. |
| 13. | Disconnect the 12P connector from the tailgate closer unit. |
| 14. | Check for continuity between the No. 7 and No. 9 terminals of the tailgate closer unit 12P connector. Wire side of female terminalsBLKBLU/BLKTAILGATE CLOSER UNIT 12P CONNECTORIs there continuity? YES - Repair an open in the BLU/BLK (LATCH) wire between the No. 18 terminal of power tailgate control unit connector A (26P) and the No. 7 terminal of the tailgate closer unit 12P connector.n NO - Faulty full latch switch, or an open circuit for LATCH line in the tailgate closer unit; replace it.n |
| 15. | Disconnect the 12P connector from the tailgate closer unit. |
| 16. | Check for continuity between the No. 7 terminal of the tailgate closer unit 12P connector and body ground. Wire side of female terminalsBLU/BLKTAILGATE CLOSER UNIT 12P CONNECTORIs there continuity? YES - Repair a short in the BLU/BLK (LATCH) wire between the No. 18 terminal of power tailgate control unit connector A (26P) and the No. 7 terminal of the tailgate closer unit 12P connector.n NO - A short circuit for LATCH line in the tailgate closer unit; replace it.n |
