Thermostat Replacement

Removal:

1.	Remove the thermostat housing (A), then remove the thermostat (B).   BA

Installation:

1.	Remove old liquid gasket from the thermostat housing mating surfaces, bolts and bolt holes.

2.	Apply a 1.5 mm wide bead of the liquid gasket, P/N 08C70-K0234M, 08C70-K0334M or 08C70-X0331S, along the broken line (A). NOTE: Do not install the parts if 5 minutes or more have elapsed since applying liquid gasket. Instead, reapply liquid gasket after removing old residue.   A

3.	Install the rubber seal (A) on the thermostat (B), then install the thermostat with the pin (C) up.   CD6 x 1.0 mm 9.8 N·m (1.0 kgf·m, 7.2 lbf·ft)AB

4.	Install the thermostat housing (D). NOTE: After assembly, wait at least 30 minutes before filling the engine with coolant.
