7-speed Mode Main Switch/Steering Shift Switch Test

1.	Remove the steering column covers upper and lower.

2.	Remove the driver's airbag from the steering wheel.

3.	Disconnect the main switch (7SPEED MODE)/steering shift switch connector (A).   Wire side of female terminalsA-++-B

4.	Check the main switch (7SPEED MODE) for continuity between connector terminals No. 1 and No. 2. There should be toggled continuity and no continuity between terminals every time the main switch (7SPEED MODE) (B) pushes.

5.	Check the steering shift switch plus (+) for continuity between connector terminals No. 4 and No. 2. There should be continuity while pressing both plus (+) of the steering shift switches, and no continuity when the plus (+) switch released.

6.	Check the steering shift switch minus (-) for continuity between connector terminals No. 3 and No. 2. There should be continuity while pressing both minus (-) of the steering shift switches, and no continuity when the minus (-) switch released.

7.	If either test is faulty, replace the main switch ( 7SPEED MODE)/steering shift switch. If the switch is OK, repair the wire harnesses between the cable reel and the PCM.
