Rear Seat-back Disassembly/Reassembly

NOTE:

• Take care not to tear the seams or damage the seat covers.
  
• Put on gloves to protect your hands.
  

1.	Remove the seat-back.

2.	Remove these items: Headrests Middle headrest (for some models)

3.	Remove the screw, then remove the latch cover (A).   A: Screw, 1Fastener Location

4.	Remove the screws (A) and detach the clips (B), then remove the striker hole cover (C).   Fastener Locations: Screw, 2: Clip, 2ABAABBC

5.	Release the hook strip (A), and unzip the seat-back cover. Pull back the cover (B), then release the hooks (C) from the seat-back frame (D). The left seat-back is shown, the right seat-back is similar.   ABCDFACCA

6.	Release the hook strips (A) from the seat-back frame (B), then remove the frame cover (C).   ABC

7.	Pull out the seat-back pad (A) from the frame (B), then pull out the headrest guides (C) while pinching the end of the guides, and remove them. The right seat-back with middle headrest is shown, the right seat-back without middle headrest and the left seat-back are similar.   BAC

8.	Remove the seat-back cover/pad (A) from the seat-back frame.   AB

9.	Remove the bolts, then remove the seat-back latch (A) from the seat-back frame (B), and release the pivot pins (C) of the latch lever (D) from the seat-back frame.   Fastener Locations: Bolt, 2ADCB8 x 1.25 mm 22 N·m (2.2 kgf·m, 16 lbf·ft)

10.	Release the push nut (A) from the seat-back hinge (B), then remove the pivot pin (C), pivot collars (D), and hinge from the seat-back frame (E). The inside hinge of each seat-back frame is shown. The outside hinges of them are symmetrical.   EBCAD

Reassemble the seat-back in the reverse order of disassembly, and note these items: To prevent wrinkles when installing a seat-back cover, make sure the material is stretched evenly over the pad before securing the hooks and clips. Make use the seat-back locks and unlocks properly. Replace any push nuts you removed with new ones.
