| DTC P0801: | Problem in Inhibitor Solenoid Circuit |
For KB, KE, KG, and KQ Models
NOTE:
- Record all freeze data and review General Troubleshooting Information before you troubleshoot.
- The illustration shows the example of connector terminal arrangement; connector terminal arrangement varies with the models.
| 1. | Disconnect inhibitor solenoid connector. |
| 2. | Measure the resistance between connector terminals at the solenoid connector.
Is the resistance 17.1-21.0 W? YES - Go to 3. |
| 3. | Disconnect PCM connector C (22P). |
| 4. | Check for continuity between PCM connector terminal C6 and body ground.
Is there continuity? YES - Repair short in the wire between PCM connector terminal C6 and inhibitor solenoid connector.n NO - Go to 5. |
| 5. | Connect inhibitor solenoid connector. |
| 6. | Disconnect PCM connector A (31P). |
| 7. | Measure the resistance between PCM connector terminals C6 and A4 or A5.
PG2 (BLK) (L15A1 engine)SOL INH (GRN/BLK)PG1 (BLK) Is the resistance 17.1-21.0 W? YES - Update the PCM if it does not have the latest software, or substitute a known-good PCM, then recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away with a known-good PCM, replace the original PCM.n NO - Go to 8. |
| 8. | Disconnect inhibitor solenoid connector. |
| 9. | Check for continuity between PCM connector terminal C6 and inhibitor solenoid connector terminal No. 2.
SOLENOID CONNECTORSOL INH (GRN/BLK)SOL INH (GRN/BLK) Is there continuity? YES - Repair open in the wire between inhibitor solenoid connector terminal No. 1 and ground (G101), or repair poor ground (G101).n NO - Repair open in the wire between PCM connector terminal C6 and inhibitor solenoid connector.n |
