1. DRAIN COOLANT (for Engine w/ Exhaust Heat Recirculation System)

NOTICE:
Do not remove the reserve tank cap and radiator drain cock plug while the engine and radiator are still hot. Pressurized, hot engine coolant and steam may be released and cause serious burns.

  1. Loosen the radiator drain cock plug.

    HINT:
    Collect the coolant in a container and dispose of it according to the local regulations.



  1. Remove the reserve tank cap and drain the coolant.

2. REMOVE TAIL EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 compression springs.

  1. Remove the tail exhaust pipe assembly from the 3 exhaust pipe supports.

  1. Remove the gasket from the front exhaust pipe assembly.



3. REMOVE FRONT NO. 3 ENGINE UNDER COVER

  1. Remove the 4 clips and front No. 3 engine under cover.



4. REMOVE FRONT CENTER FLOOR BRACE

  1. Remove the 4 bolts and front center floor brace.



5. REMOVE HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR

  1. Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor connector.

  1. Remove the wire harness bracket.

  1. Remove the bolt and separate the wire harness clamp bracket.

  1. Disconnect the wire harness to remove the wire harness clamp bracket.

  1. Using SST, remove the heated oxygen sensor.

6. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY (w/ Exhaust Heat Recirculation System)

CAUTION:
Perform this procedure when the coolant is not hot.

  1. Disconnect the 2 heater water hoses.

  1. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 compression springs.

  1. Remove the front exhaust pipe assembly from the 2 exhaust pipe supports.

  1. Remove the gasket from the exhaust manifold.



7. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY (w/o Exhaust Heat Recirculation System)

  1. Remove the front exhaust pipe assembly from the 2 exhaust pipe supports.

  1. Remove the gasket from the exhaust manifold.
