DESCRIPTION

The main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) controls the daytime running lights.
The system illuminates the high-intensity LED parking lights (high-intensity circuit).

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

1.PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING INTELLIGENT TESTER
  1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  1. Turn the power switch on (IG).

  1. Turn the intelligent tester on.

  1. Enter the following menus: Body / Main Body / Active Test.

  1. Check that the daytime running lights operate.

    Main Body 
    Tester Display
    Test Part
    Control Range
    Diagnostic Note
    Daytime Running Light
    Daytime running lights
    ON/OFF
    -

    OK:
    Daytime running lights illuminate. (LED parking lights illuminate on high-intensity (bright) setting.)

PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE (Click here)  

2.INSPECT DRL RELAY
  1. Remove the DRL relay from the engine room relay block.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard Resistance:
    Tester Connection
    Condition
    Specified Condition
    3 - 5
    Voltage is not applied between terminals 1 and 2
    10 kΩ or higher
    3 - 5
    Voltage is applied between terminals 1 and 2
    Below 1 Ω

3.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DRL FUSE - DRL RELAY)
  1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard Voltage:
    Tester Connection
    Switch Condition
    Specified Condition
    Relay Terminal 1 - Body ground
    Power switch off
    11 to 14 V
    Relay Terminal 3 - Body ground
    Power switch off
    11 to 14 V

4.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DRL RELAY - HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY LH AND HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY RH)
  1. Disconnect the A47*1 or A9*2 headlight assembly LH connector.

  1. Disconnect the A48*1 or A38*2 headlight assembly RH connector.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    1. *1: for LED headlight
    2. *2: except LED headlight

    Standard Resistance:
    for LED Headlight :

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
