DESCRIPTION

The millimeter wave radar sensor assembly and driving support ECU assembly transmit the data for general vehicle control and diagnosis function along the communication line. The millimeter wave radar sensor assembly transmits information about the vehicle in front to the driving support ECU assembly.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
When the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly is replaced with a new one, adjustment of the radar sensor beam axis must be performed (Click here).

1.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR ASSEMBLY POWER SOURCE)

  1. Disconnect the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly connector.

  1. Turn the power switch on (IG).

  1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard Voltage:
    Tester Connection
    Switch Condition
    Specified Condition
    A2-5 (IGB) - Body ground
    Power switch on (IG)
    11 to 14 V

  1. Reconnect the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly connector.

2.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DRIVING SUPPORT ECU - MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR ASSEMBLY)
  1. Disconnect the driving support ECU assembly and millimeter wave radar sensor assembly connectors.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard Resistance (Check for Open):
    Tester Connection
    Condition
    Specified Condition
    H5-16 (LRDD) - A2-3 (LRDD)
    Always
    Below 1 Ω

    Standard Resistance (Check for Short):
    Tester Connection
    Condition
    Specified Condition

    10 kΩ or higher

  1. Reconnect the driving support ECU assembly and millimeter wave radar sensor assembly connectors.

5.REPLACE MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR ASSEMBLY
  1. Replace the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly (Click here).

  1. Adjust the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly (Click here).

6.CHECK WHETHER DTC OUTPUT RECURS (DTC U0235)
  1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  1. Turn the power switch on (IG).

  1. Clear the DTCs (Click here).

  1. Perform the following to make sure that the DTC detection conditions are met.

    HINT:
    If the detection conditions are not met, the malfunction cannot be detected.

    1. Drive the vehicle at a speed of 50 km/h (30 mph) and 170 km/h (105 mph).

    2. Turn the cruise control switch (ON-OFF button) on.

    3. Push the -/SET switch to activate the cruise control.

  1. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Radar Cruise / DTC.

  1. Read the DTCs.
