DESCRIPTION

The main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) controls the rear fog light relay.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

1.PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING INTELLIGENT TESTER
  1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  1. Turn the power switch on (IG).

  1. Turn the intelligent tester on.

  1. Enter the following menus: Body / Main Body / Active Test.

  1. Check that the relay operates.

    Main Body 
    Tester Display
    Test Part
    Control Range
    Diagnostic Note
    Rear Fog Light Relay
    Rear fog light relay
    ON/OFF
    Light control switch is in head position

    OK:
    Rear fog light relay operates. (Rear fog light comes on.)

Go to step 2
OK

PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE (Click here)  

2.INSPECT REAR FOG LIGHT RELAY

  1. Remove the rear fog light relay from the No. 4relay block.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard Resistance:
    Tester Connection
    Condition
    Specified Condition
    3 - 5
    Voltage is not applied between terminals 1 and 2
    10 kΩ or higher
    3 - 5
    Voltage is applied between terminals 1 and 2
    Below 1 Ω



NG
REPLACE REAR FOG LIGHT RELAY

3.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AUXILIARY BATTERY - REAR FOG LIGHT RELAY)
  1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard Voltage:
    Tester Connection
    Condition
    Specified Condition
    Relay terminal 2 - Body ground
    Light control switch off → tail
    Below 1 V → 11 to 14 V
    Relay terminal 5 - Body ground
    Always
    11 to 14 V

4.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR FOG LIGHT RELAY - REAR FOG LIGHT ASSEMBLY)
  1. Disconnect the V9 or V2 rear fog light assembly connector.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard Resistance:
    Tester Connection
    Condition
    Specified Condition
    Relay Terminal 3 - V9-4
    Always
    Below 1 Ω
    Relay Terminal 3 - V2-4
    Always
    Below 1 Ω
    Relay Terminal 3 - Body ground
    Always
    10 kΩ or higher

5.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR FOG LIGHT RELAY - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK)
  1. Disconnect the 2B instrument panel junction block assembly connector.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard Resistance:
    Tester Connection
    Condition
    Specified Condition
    Relay terminal 1 - 2B-26
    Always
    Below 1 Ω
    2B-26 - Body ground
    Always
    10 kΩ or higher

6.INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the instrument panel junction block assembly.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
