DESCRIPTION

The main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) controls the door mirror foot lights.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1.CHECK VEHICLE CONDITION
  1. Check the vehicle condition.

2.PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING INTELLIGENT TESTER
  1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  1. Turn the power switch on (IG).

  1. Turn the intelligent tester on.

  1. Enter the following menus: Body / Main Body / Active Test.

  1. Check that the door mirror foot lights operate.

    Main Body 
    Tester Display
    Test Part
    Control Range
    Diagnostic Note
    Side Mirror Foot Light
    Door mirror foot lights
    ON/OFF
    -

    OK:
    Door mirror foot lights illuminate.



NG
Go to step 3
OK

PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE (Click here)  

3.CHECK OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the outer rear view mirror assembly that does not illuminate (Click here).

  1. Connect a positive (+) lead from the auxiliary battery to terminal 2 (MLP) and a negative (-) lead to terminal 12 (-).

  1. Check that the outer mirror foot light comes on.

4.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU - OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY)
  1. Disconnect the H17 main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.

  1. Disconnect the K6 or J6 outer rear view mirror assembly connector.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard Resistance:
    Tester Connection

    K6-2 (MLP) - H17-4 (MILE)
    Always
    Below 1 Ω
    J6-2 (MLP) - H17-4 (MILE)
    Always
    Below 1 Ω
    H17-4 (MILE) - Body ground

REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK

REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) (Click here)  

5.PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING INTELLIGENT TESTER
  1. Connect the intelligent tester on the DLC3.

  1. Turn the power switch on (IG).

  1. Turn the intelligent tester on.

  1. Enter the following menus: Body / Mirror L or Mirror R / Active Test.

  1. Check that the door mirror foot lights operate.

  1. Connect a positive (+) lead from the auxiliary battery to terminal 2 (LP) and a negative (-) lead to terminal 12 (HTR-).

  1. Check that the outer mirror foot light comes on.

    OK:
    Door mirror foot light comes on.
