DESCRIPTION

The main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) controls the center console spot light.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1.PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING INTELLIGENT TESTER
  1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  1. Turn the power switch on (IG).

  1. Turn the intelligent tester on.

  1. Enter the following menus: Body / Main Body / Active Test.

  1. Check that the center console spot lights come on.

    Main Body 
    Tester Display
    Test Part
    Control Range
    Diagnostic Note
    Center Console Spot LGT
    Center console spot lights (red, blue)
    ON/OFF
    Power switch off

    OK:
    Center console spot lights come on.

Go to step 2
OK

PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE (Click here)  

2.INSPECT MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the map light assembly (Click here).

  1. Connect a positive (+) lead from the auxiliary battery to terminal 21 (+B1) and a negative (-) lead to terminal 5 (ILLB).

  1. Check that the center console spot light (red) comes on.

  1. Connect a positive (+) lead from the auxiliary battery to terminal 21 (+B1) and a negative (-) lead to terminal 6 (ILLB).

  1. Check that the center console spot light (blue) comes on.

    OK:
    Each center console spot light comes on.

3.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY - MAIN BODY ECU AND AUXILIARY BATTERY)
  1. Disconnect the T6 map light assembly connector.

  1. Disconnect the H18 main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard Resistance:
    Tester Connection
    Condition
    Specified Condition
    T6-6 (ILLB) - H18-2 (CSPT)
    Always
    Below 1 Ω
    T6-6 (ILLB) - Body ground
    Always
    10 kΩ or higher
    T6-5 (ILLB) - H18-6 (OSPT)
    Always
    Below 1 Ω
    T6-5 (ILLB) - Body ground
    Always
    10 kΩ or higher

  1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard Voltage:
    Tester Connection
    Condition
    Specified Condition
    T6-21 (+B1) - Body ground
    Power switch off
    11 to 14 V
