1. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE CONTROL PEDAL ASSEMBLY

  1. Install the parking brake control pedal assembly with the bolt and 2 nuts.

    Torque:
    15 N*m{ 148 kgf*cm , 11 ft.*lbf }

  1. Connect the parking brake switch connector.

  1. Engage the wire harness clamp.

  1. Install the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly with the 5 bolts and nut.

    Torque:
    15 N*m{ 148 kgf*cm , 11 ft.*lbf }

  1. Engage the cable with the clamp.

  1. Temporarily install the lock nut.

    HINT:
    After adjusting parking brake pedal travel, tighten the lock nut.



2. CONNECT NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE PULL ROD SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. Connect the No. 1 parking brake pull rod sub-assembly to the parking brake control pedal assembly as shown in the illustration.

    Torque:
    5.4 N*m{ 55 kgf*cm , 48 in.*lbf }



3. INSTALL FRONT FLOOR CENTER REINFORCEMENT

  1. Install the front floor center reinforcement with the 4 bolts.

    Torque:
    27 N*m{ 275 kgf*cm , 20 ft.*lbf }



4. INSTALL YAW RATE AND ACCELERATION SENSOR
  1. Connect the yaw rate and acceleration sensor connector.

    NOTICE:
    Make sure that the yaw rate and acceleration sensor connector is connected securely.

  1. Install the yaw rate and acceleration sensor with the 2 bolts.

    Torque:
    8.5 N*m{ 87 kgf*cm , 75 in.*lbf }

    NOTICE:
    1. Do not damage the yaw rate and acceleration sensor.
    2. Make sure that the yaw rate and acceleration sensor is installed securely.
    3. Do not use dropped or damaged parts.
    4. Keep the contact surfaces of the yaw rate and acceleration sensor and the body free of foreign matter.
    5. Make sure that the sensor is facing the correct direction.



5. INSTALL NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX MOUNTING BRACKET
  1. Install the No. 2 console box mounting bracket with the 2 bolts.

  1. Engage the clamp.



6. INSTALL MULTI-MEDIA INTERFACE ECU ASSEMBLY (w/ Audio)
  1. Connect each connector.

  1. Engage the guide and install the multi-media interface ECU assembly with the bolt.



7. INSTALL NO. 1 ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR
  1. Engage the clamp and install the No. 1 electrical key oscillator.

    NOTICE:
    Be careful when installing the electrical key oscillator. If the oscillator is dropped, replace it with a new one.

  1. Connect the connector.



8. INSTALL MULTI-MEDIA MODULE ASSEMBLY (w/ Navigation System for DVD)
  1. Install the multi-media module assembly with the 4 bolts.

  1. Connect the 2 connectors.



9. INSTALL AIR CONDITIONING UNIT ASSEMBLY

10. ADJUST PARKING BRAKE PEDAL TRAVEL
  1. Remove the lower instrument panel finish panel sub-assembly (Click here).

  1. Completely release the parking brake pedal.

  1. Loosen the lock nut and the adjusting nut to completely release the parking brake cable.

  1. Turn the adjusting nut until the parking brake pedal travel is corrected to be within the specified range.

    Parking brake pedal travel:
    8 to 11 notches at 300 N (31 kgf, 67.5 lbf)

  1. Using a wrench or an equivalent tool, hold the adjusting nut and tighten the lock nut.

    Torque:
    5.4 N*m{ 55 kgf*cm , 48 in.*lbf }

  1. Operate the parking brake pedal 3 to 4 times, and check the parking brake pedal travel.

  1. Check that the parking brake does not drag.

  1. Install the lower instrument panel finish panel sub-assembly (Click here).



11. INSPECT BRAKE WARNING LIGHT
  1. When operating the parking brake pedal, check that the brake warning light illuminates.

    Standard:
    The brake warning light always illuminates at the first click.
