DESCRIPTION

The motor rotation angle sensor detects the motor rotation angle and sends this information to the power steering ECU assembly.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
If the steering column assembly or power steering ECU assembly has been replaced, perform rotation angle sensor initialization and torque sensor zero point calibration (Click here).

1.CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION
  1. Check the installation condition of the motor rotation angle sensor connector.

    OK:
    Motor rotation angle sensor connector is securely connected to the power steering ECU assembly.

2.READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (MOTOR ROTATION ANGLE SENSOR)
  1. Turn the power switch off.

  1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  1. Turn the power switch on (READY).

  1. Turn the intelligent tester on.

  1. Enter the following menus: Chassis / EMPS / Data List.

  1. Select the item "Motor Rotation Angle" in the Data List and read the value displayed on the intelligent tester.

3.CHECK STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY

  1. Disconnect the connector from the motor rotation angle sensor.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
