POWER WINDOW CONTROL SYSTEM > Auto Up Operation does not Fully Close Power Window (Jam Protection Function is Activated)

DESCRIPTION

If a door glass or a power window regulator motor assembly does not operate smoothly, the jam protection function may be triggered automatically, resulting in the auto up function being unable to fully close the window.

HINT:
This symptom may occur for any of the windows.


INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
  1. If a power window regulator motor assembly has been replaced with a new one, initialize the power window control system (Click here).
  2. If a power window regulator motor assembly and door window regulator sub-assembly have been removed and installed, or if a power window regulator motor assembly was reused when a door glass or door glass run was replaced, initialize the power window control system (Click here).

1.PERFORM INITIALIZATION (APPLICABLE LOCATION)

  1. Initialize the power window regulator motor assembly (applicable location) (Click here).

2.CHECK POWER WINDOW CONTROL SYSTEM (AUTO UP/DOWN FUNCTION (APPLICABLE LOCATION))

  1. Check that all power windows move when the auto up and down functions of the multiplex network master switch assembly and power window regulator switch assemblies (for rear LH and rear RH sides) are operated (Click here).

    OK:
    Auto up and down functions are normal (applicable location).

Go to step 3

END (PROBLEM DUE TO INITIALIZATION FAILURE) 

3.CHECK WINDOW GLASS SLIDING MOVEMENT (APPLICABLE LOCATION)

  1. Remove the window regulator.

  1. Install the window glass onto the door glass run.

  1. Check if the door window regulator operates smoothly.

  1. Check that the window glass slides smoothly when sliding it up by hand.

    OK:
    Door window glass slides smoothly.

    HINT:
    Ensure the following:
    1. The window glass fits with the glass run without improper contact or deformation.
    2. Foreign objects are not caught in the glass run.

    CAUTION:
    Perform initialization again.
