DESCRIPTION

WIRING DIAGRAM

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

CAUTION:

1. Before inspecting the high-voltage system, take safety precautions to prevent electrical shocks, such as wearing insulated gloves and removing the service plug grip. After removing the service plug grip, put it in your pocket to prevent other technicians from accidentally reconnecting it while you are working on the high-voltage system.
   
2. After removing the service plug grip, wait for at least 10 minutes before touching any of the high-voltage connectors or terminals. After waiting for 10 minutes, check the voltage at the terminals in the inspection point in the inverter with converter assembly. The voltage should be 0 V before beginning work (Click here).
   

HINT:

Waiting for at least 10 minutes is required to discharge the high-voltage capacitor inside the inverter with converter assembly.

NOTICE:

After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work (Click here).

1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
   

2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
   

3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / DTC.
   

4. Check if DTCs are output.
   

   Result:

   Result	Proceed to
   P0AFC-123 is not output.	A
   P0AFC-123 is also output.	B

5. Turn the power switch off.

CAUTION:

Be sure to wear insulated gloves.

1. Check that the service plug grip is not installed.
   

   NOTICE:

   After removing the service plug grip, do not turn the power switch on (READY), unless instructed by the repair manual because this may cause a malfunction.

2. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
   

3. Turn the power switch on (IG).
   

   NOTICE:

   1. After removing the service plug grip, do not turn the power switch on (READY), unless instructed by the repair manual because this may cause a malfunction.
      
   2. Turning the power switch on (IG) with the service plug grip removed causes an interlock switch system DTC to be set. Use the intelligent tester to clear the DTCs (Click here).
      

4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Active Test / Driving the Battery Cooling Fan.
   

   NOTICE:

   If the Active Test cannot be performed, skip it and proceed to the next step to check voltage. In accordance with fail-safe system operation, the power management control ECU sends a command to operate the battery cooling fan.

5. Select each air volume mode (1 to 6) in the "Driving the Battery Cooling Fan" Active Test to operate the battery cooling blower assembly.
   

6. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
   

   Standard Voltage:

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   Q14-2 (VM0) - Q14-4 (GND0)	Battery cooling blower is operating.	Below 5 V

   HINT:

   Measure the voltage on the wire side of the connector that is part of the battery cooling blower assembly.

7. Turn the power switch off.
   

NG	Go to step 5

CAUTION:

   NOTICE:

   After removing the service plug grip, do not turn the power switch on (READY), unless instructed by the repair manual because this may cause a malfunction.

2. Disconnect connectors i1 and z10 from the battery smart unit.
   

3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
   

   Standard Resistance:

   Tester Connection	Switch Condition	Specified Condition
   z10-6 (TBO) - i1-4 (IGCT)	Power switch off	10 kΩ or higher
   z10-12 (GBO) - i1-4 (IGCT)	Power switch off	10 kΩ or higher

4. Connect the battery smart unit connectors.
   

NG	Go to step 4

REPLACE BATTERY SMART UNIT (Click here)

CAUTION:

Be sure to wear insulated gloves and protective goggles.

1. Check that the service plug grip is not installed.
   

   NOTICE:

   After removing the service plug grip, do not turn the power switch on (READY), unless instructed by the repair manual because this may cause a malfunction.

2. Check the wire harness and connectors of the battery temperature sensor and inlet air temperature sensor for abnormalities by sight and touch.
   

   
   
   
   

   Specified Condition:

   There are no open or short circuits in the wire harness and connectors. There are no short circuits to other wire harnesses.
   

NG	REPAIR HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK
REPLACE HV BATTERY (Click here)

1. Check that the service plug grip is not installed.
   

   NOTICE:

   After removing the service plug grip, do not turn the power switch on (READY), unless instructed by the repair manual because this may cause a malfunction.

2. Disconnect connector Q14 from the battery cooling blower assembly.
   

3. Turn the power switch on (IG).
   

4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
   

   Standard Voltage:

   Tester Connection	Switch Condition	Specified Condition
   Q14-2 (VM0) - Q14-4 (GND0)	Power switch on (IG)	Below 5 V

   NOTICE:

   If the power switch is turned on (IG) with the connector removed, DTCs will be stored. If the DTCs are output, clear the DTCs using the intelligent tester (Click here).

5. Connect the battery cooling blower assembly connector.
   

NG	Go to step 6

REPLACE BATTERY COOLING BLOWER ASSEMBLY (Click here)

CAUTION:

Be sure to wear insulated gloves.

1. Check that the service plug grip is not installed.
   

   NOTICE:

   After removing the service plug grip, do not turn the power switch on (READY), unless instructed by the repair manual because this may cause a malfunction.

2. Disconnect connector Q14 from the battery cooling blower assembly.
   

3. Disconnect connector i1 from the battery smart unit.
   

4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
   

   Standard Resistance:

   Tester Connection	Switch Condition	Specified Condition
   Q14-2 (VM0) and i1-7 (VM) - Other terminal	Power switch off	10 kΩ or higher

5. Connect the battery smart unit connector.
   

6. Connect the battery cooling blower assembly connector.
