DESCRIPTION

The illuminated entry system controls the power switch illumination.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1.PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING INTELLIGENT TESTER
  1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  1. Turn the power switch on (IG).

  1. Turn the intelligent tester on.

  1. Enter the following menus: Body / Entry&Start / Active Test.

  1. Check that the illumination operates.

    Entry&Start 
    Tester Display
    Test Part
    Control Range
    Diagnostic Note
    Power/Engine SW Light
    Power switch illumination
    ON/OFF
    All doors closed

    OK:
    Power switch illumination comes on.

Go to step 2
OK

PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE (Click here)  

2.INSPECT POWER SWITCH

  1. Remove the power switch (Click here).

  1. Connect a positive (+) lead from the auxiliary battery to terminal 11 (SWIL) and a negative (-) lead to terminal 5 (GND).

  1. Check that the power switch illumination comes on.

    OK:
    Power switch illumination comes on.

3.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SWITCH - CERTIFICATION ECU AND BODY GROUND)
  1. Disconnect the H1 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.

  1. Disconnect the H78 power switch connector.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard Resistance:
    Tester Connection
    Condition
    Specified Condition
    H78-11 (SWIL) - H1-11 (SWIL)
    Always
    Below 1 Ω
    H78-11 (SWIL) - Body ground
    Always
    10 kΩ or higher
    H78-5 (GND) - Body ground
    Always
    Below 1 Ω

REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY)
