NOTICE:
  1. Do not replace the spiral cable with the auxiliary battery connected and the power switch on (IG).
  2. Do not rotate the spiral cable without the steering wheel with the auxiliary battery connected and the power switch on (IG).
  3. Ensure that the steering wheel is installed and aligned straight when inspecting the steering sensor.
  4. Do not remove the steering sensor from the spiral cable.



1. ALIGN FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD


2. REMOVE HORN BUTTON ASSEMBLY

3. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the steering wheel assembly set nut.

  1. Put matchmarks on the steering wheel assembly and steering main shaft.

  1. Disconnect the connectors from the spiral cable and steering wheel assembly.

  1. Using SST, remove the steering wheel assembly.

    NOTICE:
    Apply a small amount of grease to the threads and tip of SST (09953-05020) before use.



4. REMOVE STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY

  1. Disconnect the steering pad switch connector from the spiral cable.

  1. Remove the clamp.

  1. Remove the wire harness from the guide.

  1. Disengage the 2 claws, 2 pins and 2 guides to remove the steering pad switch assembly.



5. REMOVE CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH (w/ Cruise Control System)

  1. Remove the 2 screws.

  1. Disconnect the connector and remove the cruise control switch.



6. REMOVE CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH WIRE (w/ Cruise Control System)

  1. Remove the cruise control switch wire.



7. REMOVE STEERING SHAKE DAMPER

  1. Remove the 2 screws and steering shake damper from the steering wheel sub-assembly.



8. REMOVE LOWER STEERING WHEEL BOSS COVER (w/o Steering Heater)

  1. Remove the 2 screws.

  1. Disengage the 4 claws to remove the lower steering wheel boss cover from the steering wheel sub-assembly.



9. REMOVE LOWER STEERING WHEEL BOSS COVER (w/ Steering Heater)

  1. Remove the 2 screws.

  1. Disengage the 4 claws to remove the lower steering wheel boss cover from the steering wheel sub-assembly.

  1. Disconnect the connector from the steering wheel heater control assembly.



10. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL HEATER CONTROL ASSEMBLY (w/ Steering Heater)

  1. Disengage the clamp.

  1. Remove the 2 screws and steering wheel heater control assembly from the lower steering wheel boss cover.
