DESCRIPTION

The power management control ECU (HV CPU) monitors the IGCT relay and detects the following malfunction.

There is a short to +B in the IGCT relay or the IGCT relay is stuck closed.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

HINT:
If the battery voltage is applied to terminal +B1 or +B2 of the power management control ECU, even though the power switch is off, the circuit is shorted to +B.

1.INSPECT RELAY (IGCT)

  1. Remove the IGCT relay from the engine room junction block assembly.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard Resistance:
    Tester Connection
    		Condition
    		Specified Condition
    3 - 5
    		Auxiliary battery voltage is not applied between terminals 1 and 2
    		10 kΩ or higher

  1. Install the IGCT relay.

2.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU - ENGINE ROOM RELAY BLOCK)

  1. Remove the IGCT relay from the engine room junction block assembly.

  1. Disconnect connectors A19 and A20 from the power management control ECU.

  1. Turn the power switch on (IG).



  1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

    A20-5 (+B1), A19-2 (+B2) or 5 (IGCT relay) - Body ground
    		Power switch on (IG)
    		Below 1 V

    NOTICE:
    Turning the power switch on (IG) with the connector disconnected causes other DTCs to be stored. Clear the DTCs after performing this inspection.

  1. Turn the power switch off.

  1. Install the IGCT relay.

  1. Connect the power management control ECU connector.
