DESCRIPTION

This DTC is stored when a communication error occurs with a USB device or "iPod".

  1. Communication error with USB device
  2. "iPod" control software of system microprocessor malfunction
  3. Communication error with "iPod"
  1. USB device or "iPod"

  3. Multi-media interface ECU assembly

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1.CHECK CONNECTION METHOD

  1. Check the method used to connect the USB device or "iPod" to the No. 1 stereo jack adapter assembly.

Result:

Proceed to
USB device or "iPod" is connected using a connection cable.

USB device is directly connected.

2.REPLACE CONNECTION CABLE

  1. Disconnect the USB device or "iPod" and connection cable from the No. 1 stereo jack adapter assembly.

  1. Turn the power switch off.

    HINT:
    When one of these DTCs has been stored, it is necessary to turn off the power switch to make it possible for the vehicle to recognize a new device when it is connected.

  1. Turn the power switch on (ACC).

  1. Connect a known good connection cable to the No. 1 stereo jack adapter assembly and connect the USB device or "iPod" to the connection cable.

3.CLEAR DTC

  1. Clear the DTCs (Click here).

4.CHECK DTC

  1. Recheck for DTCs and check if the same DTC is output again.

    HINT:
    If DTCs are detected frequently, replace the multi-media interface ECU assembly.

    OK:
    No DTCs are output.

Go to step 5

5.REPLACE USB DEVICE OR "iPod"

  1. Disconnect the USB device or "iPod" from the No. 1 stereo jack adapter assembly.

  1. Turn the power switch off.

    HINT:
    When one of these DTCs has been stored, it is necessary to turn off the power switch to make it possible for the vehicle to recognize a new device when it is connected.

  1. Turn the power switch on (ACC).

  1. Connect a known good USB device or "iPod" to the No. 1 stereo jack adapter assembly.

    HINT:
    If the malfunction occurred when a USB device was in use, use another USB device for the inspection. If the malfunction occurred when an "iPod" was in use, use another "iPod" for the inspection.

6.CLEAR DTC

  1. Clear the DTCs (Click here).

7.RECHECK DTC

  1. Recheck for DTCs and check if the same DTC is output again.

    HINT:
    If DTCs are detected frequently, replace the multi-media interface ECU assembly.

    OK:
    No DTCs are output.
