COOLING SYSTEM > GENERAL |
| OUTLINE |
The cooling system uses a pressurized forced circulation system with pressurized reservoir tank.
The drive belt and pulley have been discontinued by providing an electric engine water pump assembly, reducing friction losses and weight.
A thermostat is located on the water inlet housing to maintain suitable temperature distribution in the cooling system.
Warm water from the cylinder head sub-assembly is sent to the throttle body to prevent throttle body icing (ice buildup), and at the same time is also sent to the EGR cooler to cool down the EGR gas.
An exhaust heat recirculation system* that collects exhaust heat from the exhaust system has been provided.
An aluminum radiator core is used for weight reduction.
TOYOTA genuine Super Long Life Coolant (SLLC) is used.

| SPECIFICATION |
Engine Coolant
TOYOTA genuine SLLC is used. The maintenance interval is as shown in the table below:
| Coolant Type | TOYOTA Genuine SLLC or the Following* | |
| Maintenance Intervals | First Time | 160000 km (100000 miles) |
| Subsequent | Every 80000 km (50000 miles) | |
| Color | Pink | |
SLLC is pre-mixed (50 % coolant and 50 % deionized water), so no dilution is needed when adding or replacing SLLC.
Thermostat
| Thermostat Opening Temperature | 80 to 84°C (176 to 183°F) |
