BODY STRUCTURE > GENERAL

OUTLINE
  1. Lightweight and Highly Rigid Body

    1. High tensile strength steel is used to secure safety and achieve a lightweight body.

  2. Safety Features

    1. In order to distribute impact force to the cabin and reduce floor displacement, reinforced panels and the placement of the structure are optimized.

  3. Rust-resistant Body

    1. Rust-resistance performance is enhanced by extensive use of anti-corrosion steel sheet, as well as by an anti-corrosion treatment which includes the application of anti-rust wax, sealer and anti-chipping paint to easily corroded parts such as the doors and rocker panels.

  4. Low Vibration and Low Noise Body

    1. Effective application of vibration damping and noise suppressant materials reduces engine, wind and road noise.

  5. Aerodynamics

    1. Optimization of the shape of the body and underfloor ensures excellent aerodynamic performance.

MAIN FEATURES

  1. Exterior Design

    1. Front View

      1. For the front view, the design of the headlights and radiator grille suggests the flow of air, and expresses dynamism radically, as shown in the following points.
        1. The headlights are clearly defined and pushed forward with a narrower, more vertical design and cut tops. This allows the expression of a more resolute, aggressive look.
        2. The plan arch (arch of the vehicle's nose when seen from above) has been increased, with the grille pushed forward of the rearward swept headlights. This gives the face more power and positions the grille on the same surface together with the bumper.
        3. The radiator grille has been lowered in relation to the headlights to enhance dynamism as well as the vehicle's expression.

        4. The radiator grille has been narrowed and the height/width ratio adjusted to create a more unique and memorable image.

    2. Side View

      1. For the side view, the long roof ensures interior space and efficient aerodynamics. However, the design of the side and rear windows allows the quarter pillars to be placed ahead of the rear axle, creating a compact, cab-forward image.

    3. Rear View

      1. Although the cabin is tucked in at the back to enhance aerodynamics, the wraparound design of the rear window makes it appear wider.

      2. A large type spoiler is also available. This spoiler is 30 mm (1.18 in.) longer and positioned 10 mm (0.39 in.) lower than the normal spoiler.
