1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL


2. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER


3. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER NO.2


4. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

5. REMOVE EXHAUST PIPE NO.1 SUPPORT BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the 2 bolts and exhaust pipe No.1 support bracket sub-assembly.



6. REMOVE PROPELLER W/CENTER BEARING SHAFT ASSEMBLY

7. DRAIN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID

  1. Remove the drain plug, the gasket , and drain the ATF.

  1. Install a new gasket and the drain plug.

    Torque:
    20 N*m{ 205 kgf*cm , 15 ft.*lbf }



8. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER AIR GUIDE BRACKET

  1. Remove the 2 bolts and engine under cover air guide bracket.



9. SEPARATE OIL COOLER INLET TUBE NO.1


  1. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 clamps.

  1. Loosen the union nut and separate the oil cooler inlet tube No.1.



10. REMOVE OIL COOLER OUTLET TUBE NO.1

  1. Loosen the union nut and separate the oil cooler outlet tube No.1.



11. REMOVE FLOOR SHIFT GEAR SHIFTING ROD SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the nut and separate the floor shift gear shifting rod.



12. SUPPORT AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY

  1. Support the automatic transmission with a transmission jack.



13. REMOVE ENGINE REAR MOUNTING MEMBER

  1. Remove the 4 bolts and separate the engine rear mounting member.

  1. Remove the 4 nuts and engine rear mounting member.



14. DISCONNECT WIRE HARNESS AND CONNECTORS

  1. Tilt down the automatic transmission.

    NOTICE:
    Take care so that the cooling fan does not come into contact with the fan shroud.

  1. Remove the 5 bolts and wire harness clamps.

    HINT:
    Bolt (A) is tightened to the transmission housing.

  1. Disconnect the park/neutral position switch connector.

  1. Disconnect the transmission wire connector.

  1. Disconnect the 2 speed sensor connectors.

  1. Separate the wire harness from the automatic transmission.



15. REMOVE FLYWHEEL HOUSING UNDER COVER

  1. Remove the 2 bolts and flywheel housing under cover.



16. REMOVE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY

  1. Turn the crankshaft to gain access to each bolt.

  1. Hold the crankshaft pulley nut with a wrench and remove the 6 bolts.

  1. Remove the 9 bolts.

  1. Separate and remove the automatic transmission.



17. REMOVE ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR REAR NO.1

  1. Remove the 4 bolts and engine mounting insulator rear No.1.



18. REMOVE TRANSMISSION CONTROL SHAFT LEVER RH

  1. Remove the nut and transmission control shaft lever RH.



19. REMOVE TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH ASSEMBLY

  1. Put matchmarks on the transmission case and torque converter clutch.

  1. Remove the torque converter clutch from the automatic transmission.
