EXHAUST PIPE > REMOVAL

CAUTION:
  1. Wear protective gloves when removing the exhaust pipe.
  1. The exhaust pipe is extremely hot immediately after the engine has stopped.
  1. Confirm that the exhaust pipe has cooled down before removing it.



1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.



2. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER


3. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR BRACE CENTER

  1. Remove the 4 bolts and floor brace.



4. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 FLOOR PANEL BRACE

  1. Remove the 4 bolts and panel brace.



5. REMOVE HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR
  1. Remove the 2 sensors from the front exhaust pipe (Click here).



6. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the 4 bolts and 4 nuts.

  1. Disconnect the exhaust pipe front ends from the 2 TWCs and remove the 2 gaskets.

  1. Remove the 2 bolts, 2 compression springs, exhaust pipe and gasket.



7. REMOVE TAILPIPE ASSEMBLY

  1. Disconnect the 6 exhaust pipe supports to remove the tailpipe.



8. REMOVE EXHAUST PIPE NO. 1 SUPPORT BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the 2 bolts and support bracket.



9. REMOVE FRONT TWC

  1. Remove the 6 nuts, 2 TWCs and 2 gaskets.
