OIL PUMP > REMOVAL

1. REMOVE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY
  1. Remove the engine and transmission (Click here).



2. REMOVE TIMING BELT
  1. Remove the timing belt (Click here).



3. REMOVE CRANKSHAFT TIMING PULLEY

  1. Using SST, remove the timing pulley.

    09950-50013   (09951-05010, 09952-05010, 09953-05010, 09953-05020, 09954-05010)

    NOTICE:
    Do not turn the timing pulley.



4. REMOVE OIL DIPSTICK GUIDE
  1. Remove the bolt, guide and O-ring.



5. REMOVE ENGINE OIL LEVEL SENSOR
  1. Disconnect the sensor connector.

  1. Remove the 4 bolts, sensor and gasket.



6. REMOVE OIL FILTER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. Using SST, remove the oil filter.

7. REMOVE OIL FILTER BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY
  1. Disconnect the oil pressure switch connector.

  1. Remove the stud bolt, 2 nuts, oil filter bracket and gasket.



8. REMOVE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR
  1. Disconnect the sensor connector.

  1. Remove the bolt and sensor.



9. REMOVE NO. 2 OIL PAN SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the 12 bolts and 2 nuts.

  1. Insert the blade of SST between the No. 1 and No. 2 oil pans, cut through the sealer and remove the No. 2 oil pan.

    NOTICE:
    Be careful not to damage the contact surface of the oil pans.



10. REMOVE OIL PAN BAFFLE PLATE

  1. Remove the 4 bolts, 2 nuts and baffle plate.



11. REMOVE OIL PAN SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the 18 bolts, 2 nuts and oil pan.

  1. Using a screwdriver, remove the oil pan by prying the areas between the cylinder block and oil pan shown in the illustration.

    NOTICE:
    Be careful not to damage the contact surfaces of the cylinder block and oil pan.



12. REMOVE OIL STRAINER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the 2 bolts, 2 nuts, oil strainer and gasket.



13. REMOVE OIL PUMP ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the stud bolt and 7 bolts.

    HINT:
    Use a 6 mm hexagon wrench for the hexagon head bolt.

  1. Using a screwdriver, remove the oil pump by prying the areas between the oil pump and cylinder block shown in the illustration.

  1. Remove the O-ring from the cylinder block.
