VVT SENSOR > REMOVAL

1. REMOVE CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.



2. REMOVE V-BANK COVER

  1. Remove the 2 nuts and V-bank cover.



3. REMOVE INTAKE AIR CONNECTOR PIPE

  1. Disconnect the air hose and No. 1 ventilation hose.

  1. Loosen the 2 hose clamps and remove the intake air connector.



4. REMOVE VVT SENSOR (BANK 1)

  1. Disconnect the VVT sensor connector.

  1. Disconnect the No. 5 ignition coil connector.

  1. Disconnect the No. 5 injector connector.

  1. Remove the bolt and pry out the VVT sensor.



5. REMOVE VVT SENSOR (BANK 2)

  1. Disconnect the VVT sensor connector.

  1. Disconnect the No. 4 ignition coil connector.

  1. Disconnect the No. 4 injector connector.

  1. Remove the bolt, and pry out the VVT sensor.
