Constant speed control mode and vehicle-to-vehicle distance control mode:
If the following conditions are detected while the dynamic radar cruise control system is in operation, the system clears the stored vehicle speed in the ECM and cancels the dynamic radar cruise control operation.

  1. CRUISE main indicator light blinks
  2. Master warning light comes on
  3. "Check Cruise System" is displayed
  4. "Pong" warning sound is heard
  1. Open or short in stop light switch circuit
  2. Problem with vehicle speed signal
  3. Problem with throttle position sensor and motor
Turn cruise control main switch ON again

Vehicle-to-vehicle distance control mode:
If the following conditions are detected while the dynamic radar cruise control system is in operation, the system clears the stored vehicle speed in the ECM and cancels the dynamic radar cruise control operation.

  2. Beam axis of millimeter wave radar sensor deviates
Turn cruise control main switch ON again

Vehicle-to-vehicle distance control mode:
If the following conditions are detected while the dynamic radar cruise control system is in operation, the system maintains the stored vehicle speed in the ECM and cancels the dynamic radar cruise control operation.

  1. Master warning light comes on
  2. "Clean Radar Sensor" is displayed
  3. "Pong" warning sounds is heard
There is dirt on millimeter wave radar sensor.
Recover from condition on left (RESUME operation is possible after recovery.)
  1. Master warning light comes on
  2. "Cruise not Available" is displayed
  3. "Pong" warning sound is heard
  1. Wiper switch is in HI position
  2. ECT-SNOW switch is ON
  3. Millimeter wave radar sensor is least sensitive because of bad weather such as rain, fog, snow and sandstorms
  1. Recover from condition on left (RESUME operation is possible after recovery)
  2. Turn cruise control main switch ON again

HINT:
In the vehicle-to-vehicle distance control mode, the stored vehicle speed in the ECM is maintained.

CRUISE main indicator light goes off
  1. Vehicle speed is lower than low speed limit (approx. 40 km/h (25 mph)) while running with cruise control system in operation
  2. Vehicle speed is lower than stored vehicle speed by 16 km/h (9.9 mph) or more while running with cruise control system in operation
  1. Turn cruise control main switch ON again*1
  2. Push the cruise control main switch to RESUME/ACCEL*2
