1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.



2. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL

  1. Using a clip remover, remove the 7 clips and duct seal.



3. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER

  1. Using a clip remover, remove the 3 clips.

  1. Remove the 10 screws and under cover.



4. REMOVE FRONT FENDER LINER LH

  1. Using a screwdriver, remove the 2 clips.

  1. Partially remove the fender liner.

    HINT:
    It is not necessary to fully remove the fender liner. Partially remove it so that the bumper assembly can be removed later.



5. REMOVE FRONT FENDER LINER RH

HINT:
Use the same procedures described for the LH side.



6. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER COVER

  1. Using a clip remover, remove the 2 clips.

    HINT:
    Put protective tape under the front fender.

  1. Remove the 6 screws and 5 bolts.

  1. Pull the bumper cover to detach the 3 claws on the LH side.

  1. Pull the bumper cover to detach the 3 claws on the RH side and remove the bumper cover.

  1. w/ Clearance sonar system:
    Disconnect the ultrasonic sensor connector.



7. REMOVE NO. 3 ULTRASONIC SENSOR

  1. Disconnect the sensor connector.

  1. Remove the sensor from the sensor retainer as shown in the illustration.

  1. Remove the sensor retainer as shown in the illustration.



8. REMOVE REAR BUMPER NO. 1 PLATE

  1. Using a screwdriver, remove the 2 bumper plates.

    HINT:
    Tape the screwdriver tip before use.



9. REMOVE REAR BUMPER COVER

  1. Remove the 4 clips and 6 screws.

    HINT:
    Put protective tape under the quarter panel.

  1. Pull the bumper cover to detach the 7 claws on the LH side.

  1. Pull the bumper cover to detach the 7 claws on the RH side.

  1. w/ Clearance sonar system:
    Disconnect the 4 ultrasonic sensor connectors.

  1. Remove the bumper cover.



10. REMOVE NO. 2 ULTRASONIC SENSOR

  1. Disconnect the sensor connector.

  1. Remove the sensor retainer.

  1. Remove the sensor from the rear bumper.



11. REMOVE NO. 1 ULTRASONIC SENSOR

  1. Remove the sensor retainer.

  1. Remove the sensor from the rear bumper.
