THEFT DETERRENT SYSTEM > Security Indicator Light Circuit


DESCRIPTION

  1. When the theft deterrent system is in the disarmed state, the security indicator will flash continuously if the immobiliser system is set, or not illuminate if the immobiliser system is not set.
    When the theft deterrent system is in the armed state, the immobiliser system is automatically set and the security indicator will flash continuously.
    When the theft deterrent system is in the arming preparation state and alarm sounding state, the cowl side junction block RH (multiplex network body ECU) causes the security indicator to illuminate.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1.PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (SECURITY INDICATOR)

  1. Select the Active Test, use the intelligent tester to generate a control command, and then check that the indicator illuminates.

2.CHECK WIRE HARNESS (MULTI-DISPLAY - COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK RH (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU))

  1. Disconnect the L48 multi-display connector.

  1. Disconnect the L67 ECU connector.

  1. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

    Standard resistance:
    Tester Connection
    		Specified Condition
    L48-5 (LP) - L67-24 (IND)
    		Below 1 Ω

REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK


3.CHECK OPERATION OF MULTI-DISPLAY WITH NEW OR NORMALLY FUNCTIONING MULTI-DISPLAY

  1. Temporarily replace the multi-display with a new or normally functioning multi-display.

  1. Check the security indicator operation.

    OK:
    Security indicator operates normally.
