FRONT SPEED SENSOR > INSTALLATION

1. Wipe off sealant attached to the speed sensor's fitting surface with white gasoline.
   

   NOTICE:

   Prevent foreign matter from attaching to the sensor rotor.

2. Install a new speed sensor to the hub and bearing assembly. The speed sensor connector should be placed in the upper position.
   

3. Press the speed sensor or the it becomes flat with the hub and bearing using the SST and press.

   NOTICE:

   1. Keep the sensor away from magnets.
      
   2. Do not use a hammer on the speed sensor.
      
   3. Check that there is no foreign matter such as iron chips on the speed sensor's detecting portion.
      
   4. Slowly press the speed sensor straight.
      

1. Install the front axle hub sub-assembly and front disc brake dust cover with the 4 bolts.
   

   Torque:

   69 N*m{ 700 kgf*cm , 51 ft.*lbf }

1. Using a dial indicator, check for looseness near the center of the axle hub.
   

   Maximum:

   0.05 mm (0.0020 in.)
   

   NOTICE:

   Ensure that the dial indicator is set at right angles to the measurement surface.

   If looseness exceeds the maximum, replace the bearing.
   

1. Using a dial indicator, check for runout on the surface of the axle hub outside the hub bolt.
   

   Maximum:

   0.05 mm (0.0020 in.)
   

   NOTICE:

   Ensure that the dial indicator is set at right angles to the measurement surface.

   If runout exceeds the maximum, replace the axle hub.
   

1. Align the matchmarks, and install the front disc.
   

   HINT:

   When replacing the disc with a new one, select the installation position where the front disc has the minimum runout.

1. Install the caliper with the 2 bolts.
   

   Torque:

   78.4 N*m{ 800 kgf*cm , 58 ft.*lbf }

1. Connect the speed sensor connector to the speed sensor front.
   

   NOTICE:

   Do not twist the sensor wire.

Torque:

103 N*m{ 1,050 kgf*cm , 76 ft.*lbf }
