SLIDING ROOF HOUSING > REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.



2. REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY

NOTICE:
After removing the roof headlining, connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal and reconnect the map light connector.

  1. Remove the roof headlining (Click here).



3. REMOVE SLIDING ROOF SIDE GARNISH LH

  1. Tilt up the roof glass.

  1. Detach the 5 claws and remove the side garnish.



4. REMOVE SLIDING ROOF SIDE GARNISH RH

HINT:
Use the same procedures described for the LH side.



5. REMOVE SLIDING ROOF GLASS ASSEMBLY

  1. Using a T25 "torx" driver, remove the 4 screws and glass.

  1. After removing the roof glass, disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal and disconnect the sliding roof control switch.

    CAUTION:
    If the battery cable and sliding roof control switch are connected and the jam protection function has not been initialized, be careful to avoid injuries whenever performing work between the roof glass and frame.



6. REMOVE SLIDING ROOF WEATHERSTRIP


7. PROTECT CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

CAUTION:
Cover the curtain shield airbag immediately after removing the roof headlining.



  1. Completely cover the airbag with a cloth or nylon sheet and apply tape to the ends of the cover, as shown in the illustration.

8. REMOVE SLIDING ROOF HOUSING ASSEMBLY

  1. Disconnect the sliding roof drive gear connector.

  1. Disconnect the 4 sliding roof drain hoses.

  1. Remove the 4 bolts on the vehicle body side of the stay.

  1. Loosen the 6 bolts on the housing side of the stay.

  1. Remove the 12 nuts and housing.

    NOTICE:
    Be careful not to damage the curtain shield airbag when removing the housing.
