Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
Turn the engine switch on (IG).
Turn the tester ON.
Enter the following menus: Power train / Engine / DTC.
Read DTCs.

| 2.INSPECT INTAKE MANIFOLD |
When the engine switch is turned from off to on (IG), check that the SCV links move.

Disconnect the E64 DC motor for SCV connector.
Disconnect the E45 ECM connector.
Measure the resistance.

| IA1- (E45-1) - E64-2 | Below 1 Ω |
| IA1+ (E45-2) - E64-1 | Below 1 Ω |
| Tester Connection | Specified Condition |
| IA1- (E45-1) or E64-2 - Body ground | 10 kΩ or higher |
| IA1+ (E45-2) or E64-1 - body ground | 10 kΩ or higher |
Reconnect the ECM connector.
Reconnect the DC motor for SCV connector.

| 5.CHECK WHETHER DTC OUTPUT RECURS (DTC P2004 OR P2006) |
Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
Turn the engine switch on (IG).
Turn the tester ON.
Clear DTCs.
Enter the following menus: Power train / Engine / DTC.
Read DTCs.
