1. REMOVE REAR WHEEL


2. REMOVE REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the 2 bolts, and disconnect the rear disc brake caliper assembly.

    NOTICE:
    Use a wire or an equivalent to keep the brake caliper from hanging down by the flexible hose.

  1. Remove the caliper plates No.1 from the brake caliper.



3. REMOVE REAR DISC

  1. Put matchmarks on the rear disc and the axle hub.

  1. Remove the read disc.



4. INSPECT REAR AXLE HUB BEARING LOOSENESS

  1. Using a dial indicator, check for looseness near the center of the axle hub.

    Maximum:
    0.05 mm (0.0020 in.)

    NOTICE:
    Ensure that the dial indicator is set at right angles to the measurement surface.

    If looseness exceeds the maximum, replace the axle hub assembly.



5. INSPECT REAR AXLE HUB RUNOUT

  1. Using a dial indicator, check for runout on surface of the axle hub outside the hub bolt.

    Maximum:
    0.05 mm (0.0020 in.)

    NOTICE:
    Ensure that the dial indicator is set at right angles to the measurement surface.

    If runout exceeds the maximum, replace the axle hub assembly.



6. INSTALL REAR DISC

  1. Aligning the matchmarks, install the rear disc.

    HINT:
    When replacing the rear disc with a new one, select the installation position where the rear disc has the minimum runout.



7. INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY

  1. Install the rear disc brake caliper assembly and caliper plates No.1 with the 2 bolts.

    Torque:
    54 N*m{ 551 kgf*cm , 40 ft.*lbf }

    NOTICE:
    1. Do not twist the rear brake hose when installing the rear disc brake caliper.
    2. Make sure that there are no foreign objects or damage to the threads.
    3. Do not overtighten the bolts because the hub carrier is made of aluminum and may be damaged.



8. INSTALL REAR WHEEL

Torque:
103 N*m{ 1,050 kgf*cm , 76 ft.*lbf }
