REAR SUNSHADE SYSTEM > Rear Sunshade does not Operate with Rear Sunshade Switch

for Preparation Click here

SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

When the rear sunshade switch is pressed, a signal is sent directly to the integration control and panel assembly. Then the signal is sent through the multiplex communication line to the No. 1 junction block assembly (multiplex network rear ECU), which operates the rear sunshade relay.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1.READ VALUE OF INTELLIGENT TESTER (REAR SUNSHADE SWITCH)
  1. Check the Data List for proper functioning of the rear sunshade switch.

    Integration control and panel assembly:

    Item
    Measurement Item / Range (Display)
    Normal Condition
    Diagnostic Note
    Rear Sunshade Switch
Rear sunshade switch (front switch) / ON or OFF
ON: Rear sunshade switch is pressed
OFF: Rear sunshade switch is not pressed
    -

    OK:
"ON" (rear sunshade switch is pressed) appears on the screen.

NG
REPLACE INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY
OK

2.INSPECT FUSE (RR J/B, RR S/SHADE)
  1. Remove the RR J/B fuse from the engine room No. 1 junction block.

  1. Remove the RR S/SHADE fuse from the luggage room junction block.

  1. Measure the resistance of the fuses.

    Standard resistance:
    Below 1 Ω

NG
REPLACE FUSE
OK

3.CHECK WIRE HARNESS (NO. 1 JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY - RELAY, BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)
E106719E05
  1. Disconnect the W24 relay connector.

  1. Remove the LB, LC and LF junction block connectors.

  1. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

    Standard resistance:
    Tester Connection
    Specified Condition
    LC-28 - W24-1 (B)
    Below 1 Ω
    LC-26 - W24-3 (SW)
    Below 1 Ω
    LC-11 - W24-5 (E)
    Below 1 Ω
    LF-1 - Body ground
    Below 1 Ω

  1. Measure the voltage of the wire harness side connector.

    Standard voltage:
    Tester Connection
    Specified Condition
    LB-1 - Body ground
    10 to 14 V

NG
REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK

4.INSPECT REAR SUNSHADE ASSEMBLY (MOTOR OPERATION)
  1. Check the rear sunshade assembly (Click here).

    OK:
    Rear sunshade raises and lowers.

NG
REPLACE REAR SUNSHADE ASSEMBLY
OK

5.CHECK OPERATION OF REAR SUNSHADE RELAY
  1. After replacing the rear sunshade relay with a normal one, check that the rear sunshade can operate normally.

    OK:
    Rear sunshade can operate normally.

NG
REPLACE NO. 1 JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY
OK

NORMAL (REAR SUNSHADE RELAY DEFECTIVE)
