DTC    B2063    Buckle Switch Malfunction


DESCRIPTION

  1. This circuit consists of the front seat inner belt assembly RH and LH, airbag sensor assembly center and seat belt control ECU.
  2. When the driver side (front passenger side) seat belt is fastened to the front seat inner belt assembly LH (RH), the inner belt assembly LH (RH) detects malfunctions in the circuit and sends information to the airbag sensor assembly center.
  3. The airbag sensor assembly center sends information about the seat belt fastened/unfastened condition and circuit malfunctions through CAN or BEAN communication to the seat belt control ECU.
  4. The seat belt control ECU uses information from the airbag sensor assembly center to control the pre-crash safety system.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

HINT:
Use the same troubleshooting procedures for the front seat inner belt assembly RH and LH.

1.CHECK DTC (AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY CENTER AND SEAT BELT SYSTEM WITH PRETENSIONER)

  1. Delete the DTC (Click here).

  1. Check that DTC B1655 is not output.

    OK:
    DTC B1655 is not output.

GO TO SRS AIRBAG AND SEAT BELT SYSTEM WITH PRETENSIONER

2.CHECK WIRE HARNESS (AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY CENTER - FRONT SEAT BELT ASSEMBLY RH)

  1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal and wait at least 90 seconds.

  1. Disconnect V13 airbag connector.

  1. Disconnect V39 belt connector.

  1. Using a service wire, connect terminals RBE+ and RBE- of connector V39.

  1. Measure the resistance between terminals RBE+ and RBE- of connector V13.

    Standard resistance:
    Below 1Ω

3.CHECK WIRE HARNESS (AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY CENTER - FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY RH)

  1. Disconnect the V13 airbag connector.

  1. Measure the resistance between terminals RBE+ and RBE-.

    Standard resistance:
    1 MΩ or higher

  1. Disconnect the V13 airbag connector.

  1. Measure the resistance between terminal RBE+ and the body ground, and RBE- and the body ground.

    Standard resistance:
    1 MΩ or higher

5.CHECK WIRE HARNESS (AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY CENTER - FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY RH)

  1. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal, and turn the engine switch on (IG).

  1. Disconnect the V13 airbag connector.

  1. Measure the voltage between terminal RBE+ and the body ground, and RBE- and the body ground.

    Standard voltage:
    Below 1 V

6.CHECK FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY RH

  1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal and wait at least 90 seconds.

  1. Connect the connectors from the airbag sensor assembly center and front seat inner belt assembly RH.

  1. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal and turn the engine switch on (IG). Then wait 60 seconds.

  1. Delete the DTC (Click here).

  1. Recheck for DTC.

    Standard:
    DTC B2063 is not output.

7.REPLACE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY RH

  1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal and wait at least 90 seconds.

  1. Replace the front seat inner belt assembly RH with a normal one.

  1. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal and turn the engine switch on (IG). Then wait 60 seconds.

  1. Recheck for DTC.

    OK:
    DTC B2063 is not output.
