DESCRIPTION

DTC output mode is set by connecting terminals TC and CG of the DLC3.
The DTCs are displayed by blinking the SRS warning light.

HINT:
  1. Make sure that DTC B1281 has not been output. If DTC B1281 has been output, refer to the multiplex communication system.
  2. When each warning light keeps blinking, a short to ground in the wiring of terminal TC of the DLC3 or an internal ground short in each ECU is suspected.
  3. The DTC output mode signal is transmitted through BEAN to each ECU including the center airbag sensor assembly, except for the skid control ECU with actuator. Thus when all system except the VSC system do not enter DTC output mode, it can be suspected that there is an ECM malfunction.

1.CHECK WIRE HARNESS (DLC3 - ECM)

  1. Turn the engine switch off.

  1. Disconnect the connectors from the center airbag sensor assembly.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Resistance:
    Tester connection
    		Condition
    		Specified condition
    L16-13 (TC) -
    A7-3 (TC)
    		Always
    		Below 1 Ω

2.CHECK WIRE HARNESS (CG OF DLC3 - BODY GROUND)

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    		Below 1 Ω

4.REPLACE ECM

  1. Replace the ECM.

  1. Check the DTC of the ECM (Click here , Click here or Click here).

    Result:
    A:
    Normal system code is output.
    B:
    DTC is output.
    C:
    DTC output mode is set (except center airbag sensor assembly).
