1. SYSTEM ADJUSTMENT

  1. The back guide monitor system can be set from the diagnostic of the "NAVIGATION SYSTEM".

  1. If the following operations are performed, adjustment and check on the diagnostic screen are required.

    HINT:
    If the television camera ECU is replaced, screen noise adjustment is automatically performed when steering angle setting and camera position setting are performed.



2. PREPARATION FOR ADJUSTMENT

HINT:
Only when adjusting the optical axis of the camera, install the target bar for adjustment.

  1. Park the vehicle with its wheels facing straight ahead and the steering wheel centered.

  1. Set the target bar for adjustment.

    Standard:
    A: 1,190 +- 5 mm (46.85 +- 0.20 in.)
    B: 2,000 +- 5 mm (78.74 +- 0.20 in.)

    HINT:
    1. The target bar for adjustment is a piece of tape stuck to the floor (25 +- 5 mm (0.98 +- 0.20 in.) wide by 2,000 +- 5 mm (78.74 +- 0.20 in.) long). Check the color on the screen and choose a tape color which can be easily seen.
    2. Before parking the vehicle, move the vehicle back and forth to check that the wheels are facing straight ahead and that the steering wheel is centered.



3. BOOT DIAGNOSIS MODE

  1. Start the engine.

  1. Start the diagnostic system (Click here).

  1. Select "Camera Check" on the Diagnosis Menu.



4. STEERING ANGLE SETTING

  1. Perform the STEERING CENTER MEMORIZE operation.

    1. Check that the steering wheel is centered, and then press "STEERING CENTER MEMORIZE".

      HINT:
      1. When performing removal and installation, or replacement of the television camera assembly, steering angle adjustment is not required. Press "NEXT" on the steering angle setting screen. However, the current steering angle is automatically stored as the steering angle neutral point when the steering angle setting screen is displayed. Make sure that the steering wheel is centered before changing the display to the steering angle setting screen.
      2. Even when storing the steering angle neutral point only, the system cannot store it unless the operation is completed by following the prompts from "NEXT" to "OK".
      3. When the system displays "SPEED SIGNAL CHECKING", first press "SPEED SIGNAL CHECKING", and then press "MAX STEERING ANGLE MEMORIZE". The display does not change to the next screen if this procedure is not completed.

  1. Perform the MAX STEERING ANGLE MEMORIZE operation.

    1. After adjusting the steering angle neutral point, turn the steering wheel clockwise and press "MAX STEERING ANGLE MEMORIZE". The maximum steering angle is then stored.

      HINT:
      The key "NEXT" does not respond until the system stores the steering angle neutral point and maximum steering angle.

  1. w/ Variable gear ratio steering (VGRS) system:
    Perform the VGRS inspection.

    1. Check that "VGRS ON" is displayed.
      If the VGRS is malfunctioning, "VGRS CHK" will be displayed, and pressing "NEXT" will not change the screen to the next display.

      HINT:
      For vehicles without the VGRS, nothing is displayed.



5. CAMERA POSITION SETTING

  1. Perform the roll angle adjustment.

    1. Press switches A and B to rotate C so that it is parallel to the target adjustment bar (D).

  1. Perform the vertical and horizontal position adjustment.

    1. Press the directional switches to move C so that the target adjustment bar (D) is centered in C.



6. VERIFY MODE

  1. Check that A and the target adjustment bar are overlapping.

    1. If the steering angle mid-point is not aligned, perform the STEERING CENTER MEMORIZE and MAX STEERING ANGLE MEMORIZE operations.
    2. If A and the target adjustment bar are not aligned even if the tires are aligned straight ahead, perform the CAMERA POSITION SETTING operation.

  1. Selecting "OK" will return the screen to the Diagnosis Menu, and complete the adjustment.

    HINT:
    The update is not completed until the "OK" key is pressed.
