INITIALIZATION

NOTICE:
Initialization is necessary after replacing either the ECU, tires with different tire pressure or tire pressure monitor valve sub-assembly, after rotating the tires, or when a new vehicle is delivered.

  1. Set the tire air pressure for 4 wheels, to the specified value.

    Tire Size
    Front
    kPa (kgf/cm2, psi)
    Rear
    kPa (kgf/cm2, psi)
For driving at speeds under 160 km/h (100 mph)
For driving at speeds of 160 km/h (100 mph) or over
For driving at speeds under 160 km/h (100 mph)
For driving at speeds of 160 km/h (100 mph) or over

  3. Keep the tire pressure warning reset switch pressed for 3 seconds or more with the engine switch on (IG).

  4. Check that the tire pressure warning light blinks 3 times (1 second ON, 1 second OFF). If the engine is on, "PRESSURE INITIAL" will be displayed on the multi-information display.

    HINT:
    1. Do not turn the engine switch off during initialization (The initialization process takes about 20 minutes).
    2. Initialization will be completed if signals are received from 4 the wheels. Initialization will be canceled if the engine switch is turned off during initialization.

  5. Confirm that initialization is completed using the intelligent tester.

  6. Check that the pressure for each tire is displayed in INIT THRESHOLD 1 to 4.

  7. Initialization is completed.
