DTC    C2191/91    Vehicle Speed Signal Error (Test Mode DTC)

DESCRIPTION

The tire pressure monitor ECU receives a speed signal from the combination meter. This DTC is stored upon entering test mode but erased when a vehicle speed signal of 12 mph (20 km/h) is detected for 3 seconds or more. The DTC is output only in test mode.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
It is necessary to register an ID code after replacing the tire pressure monitor valve sub-assembly and/or the tire pressure monitor ECU (Click here).

HINT:
Start the inspection from step 1 when using the intelligent tester, and start from step 2 when not using the intelligent tester.

1.READ VALUE OF INTELLIGENT TESTER
  1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  1. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

  1. Select the item below in the DATA LIST, and read its value displayed on the intelligent tester.

    TIRE PRESSURE:

    Actual vehicle speed

  1. Check that the value indicated on the tester and the combination meter are the same.

    OK:
    Indicates actual speed.
