DESCRIPTION

The tire select switch has 2 positions: "MAIN" and "2nd". 2 kinds of ID (2 types of tires) for the tire pressure monitor valve sub-assembly can be registered to the tire pressure monitor ECU.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

HINT:
Start the inspection from step 1 when using the intelligent tester, and from step 2 when not using the intelligent tester.

1.READ VALUE ON INTELLIGENT TESTER

  1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  1. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

  1. Select the item below in the DATA LIST, and read its value displayed on the intelligent tester.

    TIRE PRESSURE:

    Item
    		Normal Condition
    SELECT SW
    		No pressing: MAIN
    Pressing: 2nd

  1. Check that the value displayed on the intelligent tester changes when pressing the tire select switch.

    OK:
    Tire select switch value changes.

REPLACE TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR ECU 

2.INSPECT TIRE SELECT SWITCH

  1. Disconnect tire select switch K50 connector.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard resistance:
    Switch Position
    		Tester Connection
    		Specified Condition
    MAIN
    		2 (INT) - 1 (E)
    		10 kΩ or higher
    2nd
    		2 (INT) - 1 (E)
    		Below 1 Ω



NG
REPLACE TIRE SELECT SWITCH
OK


3.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR ECU-TIRE SELECT SWITCH)

  1. Disconnect the tire pressure monitor ECU K45 connector.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard resistance:
    Tester Connection
    		Specified Condition
    K45-3 (IDSW) - K50-2
    		Below 1 Ω
    K45-3 (IDSW) - Body ground
    		10 kΩ or higher

4.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TIRE SELECT SWITCH-BODY GROUND)
