HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY > REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.



2. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH

  1. Remove the 3 clips and side cover.



3. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL

  1. Using a clip remover, remove the 7 clips and duct seal.



4. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER

  1. Using a clip remover, remove the 3 clips.

  1. Remove the 10 screws and under cover.



5. REMOVE FRONT FENDER LINER LH

  1. Using a screwdriver, remove the 2 clips.

  1. Partially remove the fender liner.

    HINT:
    It is not necessary to fully remove the fender liner. Partially remove it so that the bumper assembly can be removed later.



6. REMOVE FRONT FENDER LINER RH

HINT:
Use the same procedures described for the LH side.



7. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER COVER

  1. Using a clip remover, remove the 2 clips.

    HINT:
    Put protective tape under the front fender.

  1. Remove the 6 screws and 5 bolts.

  1. Pull the bumper cover to detach the 3 claws on the LH side.

  1. Pull the bumper cover to detach the 3 claws on the RH side and remove the bumper cover.

  1. w/ Clearance sonar system:
    Disconnect the ultrasonic sensor connector.



8. REMOVE MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR ASSEMBLY (w/ Cruise Control System)


9. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE COVER

  1. Remove the 3 screws.

  1. Detach the claw and remove the cable cover.



10. REMOVE FRONT FENDER PROTECTOR UPPER LH

  1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 3 clips and remove the protector.

    HINT:
    Tape the screwdriver tip before use.



11. REMOVE HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY

  1. Disconnect the hood lock control cable.

  1. Remove the cap.

  1. Remove the 2 bolts and nut.

  1. Remove the hood lock.



12. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. Detach the 2 claws.

  1. Disconnect the hood lock control cable and remove the hood lock lever.



13. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY

  1. Using a screwdriver, disconnect the clamps shown in the illustration.

    HINT:
    Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  1. Pull the cable from the engine room and remove it.
