FRONT POWER SEAT CONTROL SYSTEM (w/ Seat Position Memory System) > Power Seat does not Return to Memorized Position

for Preparation Click here

DESCRIPTION

When the driver side M1, M2 or M3 switch is pressed, the multiplex network master switch assembly controls the position control ECU (via the multiplex communication line) to drive each motor until the seat reaches the memorized position. When the passenger side M1, M2 or M3 switch is pressed, the front multiplex network door ECU (passenger side) controls the position control ECU (via the multiplex communication line) to drive each motor until the seat reaches the memorized position.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1.CHECK FRONT POWER SEAT CONTROL FUNCTION
  1. Check that each function of the power seat operates normally by using the front power seat switches.

    OK:
Each function of power seat operates normally by using seat switches.

2.CHECK SEAT MEMORY SWITCH FUNCTION (SEAT POSITION MEMORY FUNCTION)
  1. Perform a memory operation properly. Check that the buzzer sounds to indicate the completion of the memory operation.

    NOTICE:
    1. The seat position will not be recorded if the SET switch and 2 or more of the memory switches (for example, M1 and M2) are pressed simultaneously.
    2. If a memorizing operation has failed, release all switches. The seat memory function does not operate unless the switches are released.

    OK:
Seat memory switch function operates normally.

3.CHECK SEAT MEMORY SWITCH FUNCTION (SEAT RESTORING OPERATION)
  1. Under each of the following conditions, check that the seat restoring operation operates by pressing the M1, M2 or M3 switch.

    1. The engine switch is on (IG) and the shift lever is on P.
    2. The engine switch is off, a door is opened and the M1, M2 or M3 switch is pressed within 30 seconds.
