DESCRIPTION

The steering control ECU receives signals from the power steering ECU via local CAN communication.
If the steering control ECU cannot receive signals from the power steering ECU correctly via local CAN communication, it will store DTC C1597/57.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1.CHECK WIRE HARNESS

  1. Disconnect the connectors from the steering control ECU and the power steering ECU.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Resistance:
    Tester connection
    		Specified condition
    A42-4 (CAN+) - A24-1 (CAN+)
    		Below 1 Ω
    A42-9 (CAN-) - A24-8 (CAN-)
    		Below 1 Ω
    A42-4 (CAN+) - A42-9 (CAN-)
    		10 kΩ or higher



NG
REPAIR OR REPLACE WIRE HARNESS
OK


2.REPLACE POWER STEERING ECU

  1. Replace the power steering ECU.

  1. Connect the connectors to the steering control ECU and the power steering ECU.

  1. Check for DTCs in the steering control ECU (Click here ).

    OK:
    DTC C1597/57 is not output.
