DESCRIPTION

If the steering control ECU detects a malfunction in the lock mechanism, it will turn the master warning light on, store the DTC C15A5/65, and stop VGRS operation.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1.CHECK WIRE HARNESS

  1. Turn the engine switch off.

  1. Disconnect the connectors from the steering control ECU and the steering actuator.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Resistance:
    Tester connection
    Specified condition
    L70-3 (LV) - L26-7 (LV+)
    Below 1 Ω
    L70-12 (LG) - L26-16 (LG+)
    Below 1 Ω
    L70-3 (LV) - Body ground
    10 kΩ or higher
    L70-12 (LG) - Body ground
    10 kΩ or higher

  1. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

  1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Voltage:
    Tester connection
    Specified condition
    L70-3 (LV) - Body ground
    Below 1 V
    L70-12 (LG) - Body ground
    Below 1 V

2.CHECK STEERING ACTUATOR
  1. Turn the engine switch off.

  1. Connect the connector to the steering control ECU.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Resistance:
    Tester connection
    Specified condition
    L26-7 (LV+) - L26-16 (LG+)
    10 to 100 Ω
    L26-7 (LV+) - Body ground
    10 kΩ or higher
    L26-16 (LG+) - Body ground
    10 kΩ or higher
