REMOVAL

Removal / installation


1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner deployment.


2. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL

  1. A127530
    Remove the 11 clips and intake duct seal.


3. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH

  1. A123702E01
    Remove the 5 clips and side cover.


4. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM COVER SIDE RH

  1. A123703E01
    Remove the 2 clips and side cover.


5. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR BRACE CENTER

  1. C104834
    Remove the 4 bolts and front center floor brace .


6. REMOVE NO. 1 FLOOR PANEL BRACE REAR

  1. A121036
    Remove the 4 bolts and rear No. 1 floor panel brace.


7. REMOVE OXYGEN SENSOR

  1. A120539E09
    Remove the grommets of the heated oxygen sensors (BANK 1, BANK 2).

  1. A120540E03
    Using the SST, remove a oxygen sensors (BANK 1, BANK 2).

8. REMOVE EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY FRONT

  1. A127822E01
    Remove the 4 bolts and 4 nuts.

  1. A125008
    Remove the 2 bolts and 2 compression springs from the tail exhaust pipe assembly.

  1. Remove the front exhaust pipe assembly and 3 gaskets.


9. REMOVE BATTERY

  1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable from the battery.

  1. Disconnect the positive (+) battery cable from the battery.

  1. Remove the 2 nuts and the battery clamp.

  1. Remove the battery insulator.

  1. Remove the battery.


10. REMOVE POWER STEERING ECU ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the No. 1 battery tray support.

    Remove the 3 bolts.

  1. C115527E01
    Release the locks of 2 power steering ECU assembly connectors (a) and (b) and disconnect the connectors.

  1. Disconnect connector (c) from the power steering ECU assembly.

  1. Remove the power steering ECU assembly.


11. REMOVE BATTERY TRAY

  1. A107680
    Remove the 2 bolts and battery tray.


12. REMOVE NO. 1 RELAY BLOCK COVER

13. REMOVE NO. 4 ENGINE WIRE

14. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM RELAY BLOCK ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the 2 bolts, nut and engine room relay block assembly.


15. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

  1. A102847E02
    Disconnect the air fuel ratio sensor connector.

  1. Remove the 6 nuts and exhaust manifold sub-assembly LH and gasket.


16. REMOVE AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR (for Bank 1 Sensor 1)

  1. Disconnect the sensor connector.

  1. A125024
    Using SST, remove the sensor from the exhaust manifold RH.

17. REMOVE AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR (BANK 2 SENSOR 1)

  1. A119433
    Using SST, remove the sensor from the exhaust manifold LH.
