Disconnect the R8 connector from the rear room light.
Measure the resistance of the connector.
- Standard resistance:

Below 1 Ω
Measure the voltage of the connector.
- Standard voltage:

R8-1 (RRMP) - Body ground
Always
10 to 14 V
Connect the (+) lead from the battery to terminal 1 and the (-) lead to terminal 3.
Check that the personal light comes on.
- OK:

LH side personal light ON
LH side personal light comes ON
LH side personal light OFF
LH side personal light does not come ON
RH side personal light ON
RH side personal light comes ON
RH side personal light OFF
RH side personal light does not come ON

Disconnect the R8 connector from the rear room light.
Measure the voltage of the connector.
- Standard resistance:

10 to 14 V
Connect the (+) lead from the battery to terminal 2 and the (-) lead to terminal 4.
Check that the rear interior light comes on.
- OK:
- Comes on
Connect the (+) lead from the battery to terminal 2 and the (-) lead to terminal 5.
Check that the rear seat light comes on.
- OK:
- Comes on
