MONITOR DESCRIPTION

This DTC is output when a valve timing stuck condition is detected. With the engine speed at 4000 rpm or less in the advance angle position, if the valve timing does not vary, or a large difference in the target and actual valve timing occurs continuously for 5 seconds, it is determined that a malfunction has occurred. When this malfunction is detected, a DTC is output immediately (1 trip detection logic). After the engine is warmed up, if the vehicle is driven in an urban area for 5 minutes, a DTC is output.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Intelligent tester only:
By using the Active Test's Control the MD VVT Linear (Bank1) or Control the MD VVT Linear (Bank2) function, it can be determined if the MD VVT system is malfunctioning.
  1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
  2. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and turn the tester ON.
  3. Clear the DTC.
  4. Start the engine and warm it up.
  5. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Active Test / Control the MD VVT Linear (Bank1) or Control the MD VVT Linear (Bank2) / All Data / MD VVT Aim Angle (Bank1) and MD VVT Change Angle (Bank1) or MD VVT Aim Angle (Bank2) and MD VVT Change Angle (Bank2).
  6. Perform the "Control the MD VVT Linear (Bank1) or Control the MD VVT Linear (Bank2)" operation with the engine speed at 1500 rpm.

    OK:

    Active Test Movement Order
    Difference between "MD VVT Aim Angle" and "VVT Change Angle"
    0° → 10° → 20° → 40° → 10° → 0° → 10° → END
    Within 4°

УКАЗАНИЕ:
Read freeze frame data using the intelligent tester. Freeze frame data records the engine condition when malfunctions are detected. When troubleshooting, freeze frame data can help determine if the vehicle was moving or stationary, if the engine was warmed up or not, if the air-fuel ratio was lean or rich, and other data from the time the malfunction occurred.

1.CHECK ANY OTHER DTCS OUTPUT (IN ADDITION TO DTC P0011 OR P0021)
  1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  1. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

  1. Turn the tester ON.

  1. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / DTC.

  1. Read DTCs.

    Result:

    Display (DTC Output)
    Proceed to
    P0011 or P0021
    A
    P0011 or P0021 and other DTCs

2.REPLACE CAMSHAFT TIMING GEAR ASSEMBLY (BANK 1 OR BANK 2)
  1. Replace the camshaft timing gear assembly [bank 1 or bank 2] (see page Нажмите здесь).

3.CHECK WHETHER DTC OUTPUT RECURS
  1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  1. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and turn the tester ON.

  1. Clear the DTC (see page Нажмите здесь).

  1. Start the engine and warm it up.

  1. Enter the following menus: Utility / Check Mode.

  1. Switch the ECM from normal mode to check mode.

  1. After idling the engine for 5 minutes, check for DTCs.

  1. Enter the following menus: DTC INFO / CURRENT CODE.

  1. Read DTC.

    Result:
