Short to GND in Front Passenger Side Squib Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The front passenger side squib circuit consists of the center airbag sensor and the front passenger airbag .

The circuit instructs the SRS to deploy when deployment conditions are met.

DTC B0107/51 is recorded when ground short is detected in the front passenger side squib circuit.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1.

CHECK DASH WIRE (FRONT PASSENGER SIDE SQUIB CIRCUIT)

(a) Turn the ignition switch to LOCK.

(b) Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.

(c) Disconnect the connectors from the center airbag sensor and the front passenger airbag.

(d) Measure the resistance between the body ground and P+ of the A28 dash wire connector on the front passenger airbag (front passenger side squib) side.

Standard resistance:

1 MΩ or higher

REPAIR OR REPLACE DASH WIRE

OK

CHECK CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY

(a) Connect the connector to the center airbag sensor.

(b) Using a service wire, connect P+ and P- of the A28 dash wire connector on the front passenger airbag (front passenger side squib) side.

(c) Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait at least for 2 seconds.

(d) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds.

(e) DTC stored in memory 2006 MY LX470 [05/2005 -        ]; SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM: AIRBAG SYSTEM: DTC CHECK / CLEAR .

(f) Turn the ignition switch to LOCK, and wait at least for 10 seconds.

(g) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds.

(h) Check the DTC 2006 MY LX470 [05/2005 -        ]; SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM: AIRBAG SYSTEM: DTC CHECK / CLEAR .

OK:

DTC B0107/51 is not output.

REPLACE CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY

CHECK FRONT PASSENGER SIDE SQUIB

(a) Turn the ignition switch to LOCK.

(b) Sensor Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait at least for 90 seconds.

(c) Connect the front passenger airbag (front passenger side squib) connector.

(d) Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait at least for 2 seconds.

(e) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds.

(f) Clear the DTC stored in memory 2006 MY LX470 [05/2005 -        ]; SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM: AIRBAG SYSTEM: DTC CHECK / CLEAR .

(g) Turn the ignition switch to LOCK, and wait at least for 10 seconds.

(h) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds.

(i) Check the DTC 2006 MY LX470 [05/2005 -        ]; SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM: AIRBAG SYSTEM: DTC CHECK / CLEAR .

OK:

DTC B0107/51 is not output.
