DESCRIPTION
The side squib LH circuit consists of the center airbag sensor and the side airbag LH.
This circuit instructs the SRS to deploy when deployment conditions are met.
DTC B0118/46 is recorded when a B+ short is detected in the side squib LH circuit.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
PROCEDURE
|
1.
|
CHECK NO. 1 FLOOR WIRE (SIDE SQUIB LH CIRCUIT)
|
|
(a) Turn the ignition switch to LOCK.
|
|
(b) Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
(c) Disconnect the connectors from the center airbag sensor and the side airbag LH (side squib LH).
(d) Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait at least for 2 seconds.
(e) Turn the ignition switch to ON.
(f) Measure the voltage between the body ground and SFL+ of the S34 No. 1 floor wire connector on the side airbag LH (side squib LH) side.
Standard voltage:
Below 1 V

CHECK CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY
|
|
(a) Turn the ignition switch to LOCK.
|
|
(b) Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait at least for 90 seconds.
(c) Connect the connector to the center airbag sensor.
(d) Using a service wire, connect SFL+ and SFL- of the S34 No. 1 floor wire connector on the side airbag LH (side squib LH) side.
(e) Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait at least for 2 seconds.
(f) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds.
(g)
Clear the DTC stored in memory

(h) Turn the ignition switch to LOCK, and wait at least for 10 seconds.
(i) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds.
(j)
Check the DTC

OK:
DTC B0118/46 is not output.

Codes other than code B0118/46 may be output at this time, but they are not relevant to this check.

REPLACE CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY

|
(a) Turn the ignition switch to LOCK.

|
(b) Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait at least for 90 seconds.
(c) Connect the side airbag LH (side squib LH) connector.
(d) Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait at least for 2 seconds.
(e) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds.
(f)
Clear the DTC stored in memory

(g) Turn the ignition switch to LOCK, and wait at least for 10 seconds.
(h) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds.

Check the DTC
